An oil products filtration and dehydration unit is designed for mechanical filtering (≤ 1 µm), removal of  biological contaminants and dehydration (including emulsified water).

Operation principles

A unit is set up on a bypass for sustaining specified parameters of technological liquids and on transfer pipelines.

A unit has a pump to mantain specified filtering parameters.

A filter bag  (filtering grade 10-20 µm) with is installed after a pump/ This filter allows:

1. To protect the coalescing filter from impurities.

2. To easily dispose all contaminants (the bag filter can be squeezed or disposed together with contaminants).

After a bag filter oil products get into a coalescing filter with a nozzle, where they get cleaned of mechanical impurities ≥ 5 µm (dirt holding capacity ≈ 300%) and dehydrated of free and emulcified water. When the coalescing filter gets contaminated, it can be regenerated by backwash.

If necessary, the unit can be supplied by electric heater to maintain the specified temperature. It is equipped with two differential pressure gauges to monitor filter clogging and with phase separation sensors to monitor the level of separated water. All parameters are available on the control panel in real time. The unit is equipped with emergency alarm.

Working process description

A cleaned product is pumped through a pre-heater into a bag filter (filtration degree 5-20 µm) for preliminary separation of mechanical impurities. Temperature is controlled by temperature sensors.  Purity control is provided by two differential manometers. After the bag filter the flow reaches a nozzle in a coalescing filter. Separated water accumulates in the bottom of the coalescing filter. Water level is monitored by phase separation sensors sending signals to control panel. A whole unit is mounted on a mobile frame and can be supplied with quick-release connectors. Coalescing nozzle contamination is controlled by differential manometers.
